Are you carrying too much baggage? Are you holding a grudge? Are you being weighed down by only focusing on past events? Maybe your future plans are being stalled by your focus on the past. Maybe you can’t see the blessings in your life because you are always focusing on your past.
Statements like “I’ve always been bad at math” or “I was born that way” are sure signs that you have been weighed down by something negative that you learned or heard when you were growing up. Well, you are grown up now and it is time to start taking control of your actions. You can no longer be affected by the past. You must let go of the old emotional baggage and leave it behind. Do not go back and pick it up; don’t just stuff it away in your mind for reference later. Don’t let your negative friends and family remind you of those things you have put to rest.
It is time for you to start looking toward the future, it is time to start finding ways to build positive emotional responses that will help lift you up and not tear you down. Decide today that you will no longer live with regret and you will find peace in knowing that you have left no question unanswered and no opportunity untaken. Move forward, make progress, and strive toward the goal with a passion that you have never shown before.
Hebrews 12:1 says:
1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
You have a race to run and a final goal to achieve. You have been specifically created to accomplish a mission. The Mission that God has set for you and only you have the sprit to accomplish your mission. What is it? What is the reason you were allowed to wake up this morning? I don’t know but you can’t spend the rest of your life asking what or why. You must begin to pursue your dreams today.
Let go of the past and let yourself fly. Don’t doom your progress by letting grudges be the focus of your life. Pain and bitterness will only stress you and keep you angry.
It’s time to take an honest look at how much baggage you’ve been carrying around – baggage can make you negative, stressed, angry, and way too sensitive – it’s will weigh you down and keep you from flying. You don’t need to be overloaded. Unload that baggage – before it makes you crash.
Isaiah 43:18
18 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
What are you waiting for start now!
